Who knew that in less than a decade, Illinois would become a leading state in wind turbine construction? Drivers may encounter the forests of gleaming turbines just a few hours out of Chicago as more wind farms are constructed.
While I do encourage visitation of these turbines, keep in mind that the turbine towers are often situated on private property; please do not trespass unless you have permission to do so. Remember, too, that these are also power plants and could potentially be dangerous. Given their size, however, you won't need to get too close to them to take photographs.
